ON Tuesday, April 16 at approximately 1:21 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on 184 Street at 40 Avenue. The vehicle, a large Flat Deck carrying a Bobcat was traveling northbound on 184 Street when it went off-road right before striking a BC Hydro utility pole, downing the pole and wires.

The collision and damage to the utility pole resulted in the closure of 184 Street between 32 Avenue and 40 Avenue to facilitate removal of the vehicle and the installation of a new power pole. The road was closed until around 8 a.m.

Surrey RCMP said that it is not apparent if alcohol or speed were a factor. The driver was transported to a local area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
