Vehicle-electric bicycle collision in Surrey

SURREY RCMP are at the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the 10400-block of University Drive of Surrey.

On Saturday, November 21, at approximately 5:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 10400-block of University Drive. A vehicle travelling southbound on University Drive was involved in a collision with an electric bicycle and then ended up hitting a local area business at the intersection of University Drive and 104th Avenue.

The driver of the electric bicycle was transported to a local area hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. There were a few pedestrians walking on the sidewalk at the time of the collision who were able to get out of the way as the vehicle hit the exterior wall of the business, shattering the glass wall.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and is co-operating. The incident is still under investigation. The intersection of University Drive and 104th Avenue was cleared.
