Vehicle, residence damaged in shooting in Surrey’s Newton

SURREY Police Service is investigating a shooting that happened early on Sunday and resulted in damage to a vehicle and residence in the Newton area of Surrey.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on December 15, police received reports of several shots fired outside of a residence in the 7700-block of 126A Street. Several residents were inside asleep at the time but no one was injured.

Surrey Police Service officers, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), discovered that both a vehicle parked in the driveway and the side of the house were struck by several bullets.

Two suspects, described as adults wearing dark clothing, were seen running away. The investigation is ongoing and being led by Surrey Police Services’ Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST).
