Victim of December 14 targeted shooting in Delta dead

ON December 14 at approximately 5:45 p.m., Delta Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 11100-block of 82 Avenue and located a victim suffering from injuries. He was transported to a hospital and provided emergency care.  Members of the DPD Major Crime Section (MCS) assumed the investigation.

Delta Police announced on Friday that the victim has died of the injuries sustained. This investigation is now a homicide investigation.

Police said the homicide was targeted, and the victim is known to police. At the request of the family, police will not name the victim. Earlier, police had said the incident was related to the BC Gang Conflict.

Delta Police said they remain committed to community safety and well-being and will be investigating this incident to hold accountable the people responsible for this shooting. They asked the community for assistance in doing so.
