VANCOUVER Police on Friday released images of a suspect in an unsolved assault against a 16-year-old girl this past summer, and ask anyone who knows the man to call police.

“This case remains unsolved because we have not yet been able to identify the suspect,” said Constable Tania Visintin. “We hope that by releasing these images, someone who knows the suspect, or the suspect himself, will come forward.”

The victim and a friend boarded the 250-line bus at Park Royal in West Vancouver around 5:45 p.m. on the evening of August 25. They observed a man on the bus who they thought was staring at them, and commented aloud to each other about the man’s behavior.

When the victims got off the bus at Pacific Centre, near Granville and Georgia Street, the man allegedly followed them and assaulted one of the girls. A witness intervened to stop the assault, however the suspect walked away before police could respond.

The suspect is white, believed to be in his forties or fifties, and approximately six feet tall. He wears glasses and has receding hair.  He was wearing on orange BC Lions golf shirt, cream-coloured pants, and blue and white Adidas shoes.

Anyone with information about the man’s identify is asked to call Vancouver Police at 604-717-4021.
