Winter weather service update from TransLink

A bus breaks down at Cordova and Richards streets in downtown Vancouver.

WITH adverse road conditions throughout Metro Vancouver, customers should prepare for longer wait times than normal on Wednesday evening, says TransLink. Road conditions have been deteriorating since the morning, and customers will notice significant delays on some bus routes, with some route cancellations in the Tri-Cities.

Bus
60-foot articulated buses have been swapped for 40-foot buses because they are more agile in the snow. This means there is reduced space on routes that normally operate with 60-foot articulated buses, and some reductions in service because of fewer available buses.

Due to road conditions in the Tri-Cities, the following bus routes are not operational until road conditions improve:

  • 181, 182, 183, 184, 185, 186, 187, 191

Some bus services in higher altitudes may end their route early due to road conditions. The situation is changing quickly, and customers should build in extra travel time and check their specific route for information through our Transit Alerts Page.

SkyTrain
SkyTrain is running to all stations on all three line with frequencies slightly lower than normal. Anti-icing trains will be deployed as needed to prevent ice from building up on the power rail.

HandyDART
HandyDART is running with reduced service levels, prioritizing customers with medical appointments, work, or school.

SeaBus and West Coast Express
Regular service.
