Witnesses and video sought for fatal collision investigation in Newton

SURREY RCMP are seeking witnesses and dash-cam video to assist in the investigation of a collision that occurred in December in Newton.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on December 25, 2020, Surrey RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 6700-block of King George Boulevard. The pedestrian, a 36-year-old woman, died as a result of the collision. The suspect briefly remained at the scene before departing prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) identified a suspect and suspect vehicle, a 2005 silver Toyota Camry with black rims on the front tires and silver mag wheels on the rear tires. Officers are now seeking the public’s assistance with gathering additional evidence of the collision to advance the investigation.
