DELTA Police announced on Tuesday that on March 18 they arrested a youth in relation to the March 5 arson at the playground area of Chalmers Park. The damage to the playground is estimated to be approximately $100,000.

The youth was processed and released on documentation to appear in court at a later date and information is being prepared for submission to Crown Council for charge approval.

On Saturday, March 5 at 1:37 a.m., police responded to a report of a fire at the Chalmers Park playground area located at 11400 76A Avenue. Delta Fire Department had extinguished the fire before police arrived at the spot.
