16-year-old male stabbed in Surrey in dispute

SURREY RCMP are on scene in the area of 147th Street and 83rd Avenue in Surrey where a 16-year-old male was stabbed.

On Monday, at approximately 8 p.m., police and BC Ambulance Service received multiple 911 calls reporting that a youth had been stabbed. RCMP officers located a youth who had been stabbed. The youth, a resident of Surrey, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP officers are presently speaking to witnesses and canvassing the area for possible video surveillance.  Initial information is that a dispute occurred involving a group of youths apparently known to each other and the victim was stabbed by another youth.  The suspect and several other youths fled before police arrived.
