2023 Honda Celebration of Light: Australia, Mexico and the Philippines on July 22, 26 and 29

THE Honda Celebration of Light – the world’s longest-running offshore fireworks competition is set to return with a thrilling line-up of pyrotechnic performances featuring teams from Australia, Mexico and the Philippines.

“I join the hundreds of thousands of people who are eagerly awaiting the return of the Honda Celebration of Light,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, on Monday. “This iconic event has become more than a dazzling display of fireworks. It’s become a gathering place for people of all generations and backgrounds for a celebration of music, food, and culture – and a true summer highlight in B.C.”

“The Government of Canada is proud to support the return of the Honda Celebration of Light as an anchor summer experience for locals and tourists alike,” said Parm Bains, MP for Steveston—Richmond East. “This iconic event has become an economic driver for local businesses and a gathering place for people of all generations and backgrounds to celebrate music, food, and culture.”

Bains announced an investment of $457,760 through the Tourism Relief Fund for Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.

Concord Pacific is also covering the cost of available accessible grandstand tickets for all three nights of the festival.”

Concord Pacific will hold a lottery to distribute 100 tickets for West End and Downtown seniors for the first performance (July 22) and 100 families and individuals for the third performance (July 29). Saturday, July 22: Australia – Howard & Sons

Wednesday, July 26: Mexico – Grupo AVACON

Saturday, July 29: The Philippines – Blue Peacock

Blue Peacock Fireworks is regarded as one of The Philippines’ promising names in the pyrotechnic industry and has won more awards than all competing companies. Their team not only became part of history by culminating the 100th Philippines Independence Celebration but also was the first ever team to set up a pyro-musical show using the SkyRanch Eye, the tallest Ferris Wheel in The Philippines, so be ready for a colourful show.

At 10 p.m. each night the fireworks will begin from barges located in English Bay. Music simulcast can be heard on CFMI Rock 101. The winning team will be announced on Tuesday, August 2.

The event also welcomes back the Red Bull Air Show, a spectacular pre-show performance happening on all three festival nights.
Attendees can reserve a seat with exclusive VIP and family-friendly viewing options with the best seats in the house! Limited seats are available for the three ticketed viewing locations: Scotiabank Lounge, Inukshuk Point and the Concord Pacific Grandstand. For those interested in hosting private groups with the best views of the barges, there are VIP private cabanas and larger group hosting patio spaces available to rent.
