25-year-old male shot and killed in Abbotsford

Social media is identifying the victim as a South Asian linked to the United Nations gang

 

ON Saturday, January 20 at 5:51 p.m., Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a parking lot of a mall in the 32900-block of South Fraser Way for a reported shooting. 

Officers located a 25-year-old male with serious and life-threatening injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. First aid was immediately provided; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries. 

The investigation is in the preliminary stages, with early indications suggesting this incident is targeted, said police. 

Abbotsford Police said they had informed the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (I.H.I.T.), which has since been deployed. 

The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit will be transitioning this investigation to I.H.I.T.
