33-year-old man shot and killed in Maple Ridge

RIDGE Meadows RCMP on Friday called in the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Friday after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed in Maple Ridge.

On August 12 at approximately 11:45 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the 11900-block of 216 Street. Officers found a 33-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police attempted life-saving measures on the man until BC Ambulance Services arrived. However, he was later pronounced deceased.

Police said that it is still in the early stages of the investigation and at this time, it is unknown if this is related to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict. IHIT now has conduct of the investigation.
