BURNABY RCMP’s Strike Force Unit has arrested a 64-year-old man in relation to a bank robbery that occurred last September.
On September 26, 2025, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a robbery with a weapon at a bank in the Kingsway and Edmonds Street area. The suspect reportedly used a gun in the offence. He had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit (Robbery Section) assumed conduct of the investigation.
After a months-long investigation, on January 14, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Burnaby RCMP’s Prolific Offender Suppression Team (POST), Strike Force Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in South Burnaby.
During the search, police seized two firearms. A 64-year-old man was arrested on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
