THE 9th annual Canucks Diwali Night, took place on Wednesday, November 5 at Rogers Arena. This annual event has grown into a significant cultural celebration in British Columbia, spotlighting South Asian arts, achievements, music, food and community — all within the heart of Vancouver’s hockey culture.
This year’s event featured dynamic live performances including: Intense – global hitmaker and renowned music producer; Girls Like You – British South Asian girl group making waves in the UK and global music scene; Shan-E Punjab Arts Club – traditional Punjabi bhangra ensemble; and Dhol Nation Alliance – leading dhol percussion group.

Alongside the performances, fans were welcomed into a vibrant Diwali Market showcasing local South Asian-owned businesses, including Tasty Indian Bistro, Dudh Soda, and Just Cakes Bakeshop.
Special guests for the event included: Jazzy B, Neeru Bajwa, the NHL’s first South Asian player Robin Bawa, PWHL player Chanreet Bassi and members of the Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi broadcast.

The evening also featured a pop-up exhibit from the Museum of Surrey’s Our Connection to Hockey Exhibit.
Canucks Diwali Night continues to be a meaningful tradition that brings together fans, families, creatives, and community leaders — celebrating culture on a major stage and making space for representation in sports and entertainment.
