Maple Ridge homicide victim is Daniel William Delmark

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Tuesday identified the victim of the shooting on Monday in Maple Ridge as 57-year-old Daniel William Delmark of Maple Ridge.

On November 1 at approximately 6:41 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to shots fired in the area of 25387 102 Avenue. First responders found a male victim suffering from bullet wounds. Despite life-saving measures by EHS, the male succumbed to his injuries.

Daniel Delmark is not known to police and has no connections to the ongoing Lower Mainland Gang Conflict, police said.

IHIT is continuing to investigate with the assistance of Ridge Meadows RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the BC Coroners Service. The scene has been secured but the investigation is still in its initial stages. Canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance is ongoing.

Homicide investigators are seeking video surveillance and dashcam video of any person or vehicle in the area of Lougheed Highway, 100 Avenue and 102 Avenue around 264 Street. The key times for footage is between 6 to 7 p.m.

“We are still determining what transpired,” said IHIT Sgt. David Lee. “What is confirmed is that Mr. Delmark was not known to police. It is extremely important that the friends or associates of Mr. Delmark reach out and contact us.”
