PUNJABI Language Education Association (PLEA): 20th Annual International Mother Language Day on Sunday, February 23, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Taj Park Convention Centre, 8580 132 Street, Surrey, with support from Taj Park Convention Centre and Deepak Binning Foundation.
* Keynote Speakers: Jessie Sunner, MLA Surrey-Newton and Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives; Attorney General and Deputy Premier Niki Sharma; and school district representatives Garry Thind (Surrey), Nimmi Daulla (Delta), and Preet Rai (Abbotsford).
* Punjabi learners from local schools will present poetry, songs and stories.
* Inspiring video to learn Punjabi: presented by Jaiden Gill and Rohan Gill.
* Canadian-born Punjabi authors Parabjot Kaur and Harman Pandher.
* Local Punjabi singers Sukhi Lalli and Binder Rode.
