Liberals now have 170 MPs – just two shy of majority

ELECTIONS Canada says that after the results of a judicial recount the Quebec riding of Terrebonne has flipped from the Bloc Québécois to the Liberals by just one vote .

The Liberals now have 170 MPs in the House of Commons. They need just two seats to form a majority government.

Tatiana Auguste (Liberal) won 23,352 votes in the final count, while Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné (Bloc Québécois) got 23,351 votes.

Tatiana Auguste was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and has lived in Canada since 2008. She grew up in Montreal, where she attended elementary and secondary school and graduated with an International Baccalaureate. She went on to study economics at Concordia University focusing on investment strategies in underrepresented communities.
