ALBERTA RCMP is cautioning the public on the rise of Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMG) activity within Alberta as motorcycle season has arrived.
In a post on the Alberta RCMP Facebook page, police say that Albertans should expect to see an increase in motorcyclists from these gangs on provincial roads, highways, and at gas stations, as well as a larger police presence, on weekends, when planned rides and events often occur.
They say: “Satan’s Choice Motorcycle Club is expanding across Canada and throughout Alberta. This expansion has the potential to cause conflict with other dominant OMGs, such as the Hells Angels. Albertans are encouraged to avoid OMG’s and areas with OMG activity.”
The Alberta RCMP says that they along with their policing partners are actively focusing resources on the mitigation of criminal activity from these gangs and will continue to monitor activity to help ensure public safety, and the safety of motorists on Alberta roadways.
If you see something suspicious, report it to your local police service or call 310-RCMP. To remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
