Bodies of two paddleboarders recovered from Browning Lake near Squamish

SQUAMISH RCMP annlunced on Tuesday that the two individuals who were reported to have fallen from their paddleboard on Browning Lake have been located deceased.

On May 30 at approximately 3 p.m., Squamish RCMP received a report that two paddleboarders on Browning Lake, within Murrin Provincial Park, had entered the water and did not resurface. A coordinated search effort was immediately initiated.

Multiple agencies responded to assist, including Squamish Search and Rescue, B.C. Conservation Officer Service, Squamish Fire Rescue, BC Emergency Health Services, and RCMP Air One.

On June 2, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team attended Browning Lake to continue search efforts. During this operation, both individuals were located and subsequently recovered.
