ON Sunday, June 21 just before 3:30 p.m., the Sea to Sky RCMP (Whistler Detachment) were notified of human remains located in Alta Lake near Rainbow Park.

Police investigators attended and were assisted in the recovery of the remains by Whistler Fire Services, BC Conservation Officer Service and the Whistler Sailing Association.

“Details of the individual located will not be released pending an investigation by the BC Coroner Service”, said Cpl. Katrina Boehmer, Media Relations Officer for Sea to Sky RCMP.

“We recognize that several individuals may have witnessed this incident, and we want them to know they are welcome to contact our RCMP Victim Services team if they have been affected in any way and feel they would benefit from support.”
