JUST before 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, West Vancouver Police responded to a report of a scuba diver in distress at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver.
Despite the efforts of fellow divers, West Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, and BC Emergency Health Services Air Ambulance, the diver, a male in his 60s, sadly, did not survive, and was declared deceased at the scene.
Police say that while the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, there are no early indications of suspicious circumstances related to his sudden death. The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is investigating.
