ADAM Troy Mann, 40, of Ontario, has now been charged in relation to the Surrey homicide of Tory Dunn.

On June 16, Surrey RCMP responded to a call at a residence near the 9800-block of 182A Street. Members located a woman, later identified as 30-year-old Tory Dunn, with life-threatening injuries. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, Dunn succumbed to her injuries.

While on route to the scene, officers located Mann who was subsequently taken into police custody in relation to the homicide with the assistance of the Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS).

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and continued to work closely in partnership with Surrey RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS) to advance the investigation.

On June 28, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against Mann, who remained in custody, in relation to Dunn’s homicide.

“The investigation does not end here. IHIT will continue to work with the Surrey RCMP to collect evidence and find answers,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “This tragic event has shaken the entire community. Those in need of support are recommended to contact the Surrey RCMP’s Victim Services.”

IHIT is asking anyone with dash-camera or surveillance video in the area around the 9800-block of 182A Street, Surrey, on June 16 between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

As this investigation is now before the courts, IHIT said it will not be available for comment.
