Air Canada’s Vancouver-Delhi flight on Tuesday night was cancelled because of Pakistani airspace closure

AIR Canada informed The VOICE on Wednesday that due to the closure of Pakistani airspace by its government, one Air Canada flight en route to Delhi last night (February 26) turned back over the Atlantic Ocean and returned to Toronto on Wednesday, while a second flight from Vancouver to Delhi that was to depart on Tuesday night (February 26) was cancelled.

Air Canada spokesperson Angela Mah said in an email: “Air Canada’s flight from Toronto to Mumbai is planned to operate tonight [Wednesday] as it takes a different routing, and we are evaluating the routing options for both Toronto-Delhi and Vancouver-Delhi flights scheduled to operate later tonight.”

She added: “We have put in place a goodwill policy for affected customers. We have no aircraft on the ground in India and all flights from India to Canada have returned as scheduled. For more information, customers should consult www.aircanada.com”
