HEALTH Minister Terry Lake will be joined by Fraser Health Board Chair Karen Matty, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation Board Chair Doug Eveneshen and City of New Westminster Mayor Jonathon Cote on Wednesday to make an announcement regarding the redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital.
According to the hospital’s website: “Royal Columbian Hospital is a fully modern 450 bed acute care hospital serving the communities of New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam. It is the tertiary referral centre for the Lower Mainland east of the Vancouver city border. Because of its close proximity to the freeway and industrial area, this hospital has one of the busiest emergency departments in the Lower Mainland and sees approximately 60,000 emergency patients per year.”
