B.C. Greens will work to build a more sustainable, equitable province: Furstenau

B.C. Greens Leader Sonia Furstenau on Saturday said her party “will work every day to build a more sustainable, equitable province.”

She said “I’m honoured that voters have chosen to return a B.C. Green Caucus to the Legislature.

“We will continue to work collaboratively to support British Columbians through the pandemic, as well as to hold the government to account on the issues that matter most to them.

“These results show that our message is resonating with British Columbians and we are expanding our appeal off Vancouver Island. The NDP engineered this election to get a majority and wipe out their opponents. What these results are showing is that the British Columbians are not willing to give the government a pass on things like climate change, old growth protections, the Site C dam and the holes in the COVID recovery plan. The B.C. Greens will work every day to build a more sustainable, equitable province.

“I congratulate all the MLAs that were elected today, as well as those who will find out the results in the coming weeks. I look forward to working with you to build a stronger province.”
