B.C. Liberals: While communities weren’t feeling safe, Horgan was planning a snap election

THE B.C. liberals said on Thursday that the NDP’s Melanie Mark laid bare the NDP’s plan to deal with growing homeless camps — make them a permanent part of the neighbourhood.

For those who live in these communities, this will be devastating news.

BC NDP Leader John Horgan has failed to keep neighbourhoods safe and his policies have made things worse, the B.C. Liberals said.

This week there was a man running with a chainsaw in one camp.

Then there was the needle-wielding man chasing after a woman.

Plus a delivery driver was attacked in Yaletown.

But it’s also happening outside Vancouver. A man walking his dog near Beacon Hill was attacked.

The B.C. Liberals said that in Maple Ridge, the NDP’s Selina Robinson refused to take responsibility and blamed council.

Which isn’t a surprise.

Horgan has alternately blamed the federal government and municipalities for not doing his job. And now throws up his hands.

Making camps a permanent part of neighbourhoods and warehousing people in hotels is simply wrong, the B.C. Liberals said.

The B.C. Liberals said their leader Andrew Wilkinson and they have a plan to make neighbourhoods safe and help those in need.
