BC Seniors Advocate seeks submissions showcasing seniors

BC Seniors Advocate Dan Levitt said on Tuesday that his office is asking seniors to help it celebrate their achievements, contributions and interests during B.C. Seniors’ Week from June 1-7.

Levitt said in a statement: “We’re collecting stories from seniors about their commitments to communities and families, wisdom or advice on ageing, or showcasing their special skills so we can share them on our X and Facebook channels as part of our ‘Spotlight on Seniors’ campaign.

“I’m encouraging older people throughout the province to visit our web site – seniorsadvocatebc.ca – and tell us their stories so we can celebrate their achievements and learn from their experiences. The submissions collected over the next few weeks will be posted on social media during B.C. Seniors’ Week.

“As BC Seniors Advocate, I’ve met thousands of seniors throughout the province and they comprise an incredibly diverse demographic. I’m continually amazed at the vast amount of work they do to make our province a better place for everyone. Seniors’ Week is a chance for us to showcase older people and recognize their important role in our society.

“I look forward to seeing the submissions and sharing the accomplishments, advice and activities of seniors throughout the province.”
