THE Times of India newspaper in New Delhi on Monday reported that a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed that they targeted three properties in Surrey, including Swift 1200 AM radio station, associated with “Navi Tesi” [Navi Dhesi] claiming that he “extorted” money from singers in the name of the gang – an allegation vehemently denied by the Dhesi family.

The newspaper said the social media post read: “Sat Sri Akal, Ram-Ram to all brothers. I am Fateh Portugal. We are taking responsibility for those who are doing extortion and shootings in Canada in the name of Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi gang. These locations belong to Navi Tesi, and we have been carrying out shootings at these places for the past three days. We have no personal issue with Swift 1200 AM, but Navi Tesi extorted 5 million from singers in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, so we are targeting him.”

The Times of India reported: “The post warned that if anyone provides evidence of wrongdoing by businessmen, they will take action against them. However, they have no enmity with hardworking people and respect those who earn their living honestly.

“The post ended with a warning that if anyone spreads false news, the responsibility for any harm caused to life or business will lie with them, not Fateh Portugal. The post was signed off with several names.”

The newspaper posted a video of a shooting on X.

However, well-know Punjabi journalist Gurpreet (Lucky) Singh Sahota in Surrey posted the following on X: “In response to the allegations made by Fateh Portugal (of the Bishnoi gang) against Surrey businessman Navi Dhesi, his father, Kulwant Dhesi, gave me the following statement: “I, Kulwant Dhesi, on behalf of myself and my son Navi Dhesi, want to make it absolutely clear that neither I nor my son have ever taken even a single penny from any ordinary person or singer for LMIA [Labour Market Impact Assessment] or for extortion. These allegations are completely false.”
