COQUITLAM RCMP are asking for witnesses and dash-cam video of a brazen daytime shooting that occurred just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 4.
Coquitlam RCMP say their frontline officers attended a shooting in progress in the area of Johnson Street and Glen Drive in Coquitlam. Police received multiple reports that multiple individuals had shot at a vehicle and were pointing a firearm.
Responding officers located bullet holes and casings in the area.
Police quickly located two suspects believed to be involved in the shooting.
There are no reported injuries at the time.
“We are extremely lucky that no one was injured during this brazen daytime shooting in a very populated area,” said Superintendent Keith Bramhill, Officer in Charge of Coquitlam RCMP. “As we are in the initial stages of the investigation, we are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or saw a man pointing a firearm in the area of Johnson Street and Glen Drive to contact police. We are also asking anyone who may have dash-cam, cellphone or home surveillance video between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 4 to contact Coquitlam RCMP.”
The file has been assumed by the Investigational Support Team (IST). Coquitlam RCMP Victim Services is engaged.
