Burnaby RCMP seek witnesses as cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in collision

BURNABY RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating a collision that has left a 23-year-old cyclist in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, September 12, at 12 p.m., frontline officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of MacPherson Avenue and Beresford Street. The cyclist was crossing MacPherson Avenue at Beresford Street when he was struck by a vehicle driving northbound.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The cyclist was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

“If you witnessed this incident and haven’t spoken to police, please contact our investigators,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj on Monday.
