FOREIGN Affairs Minister François-Philippe Champagne on Thursday condemned the recent attacks on schools in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Cameroon.
Champagne said: “Education is a fundamental right. Safe schools allow young people to broaden their minds and realize their full potential. That is why it has been so disturbing to witness recent attacks that have deliberately targeted children and education facilities.
“Canada condemns the recent attacks on schools in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Cameroon. These attacks are grave violations of human rights. Canada stands in solidarity with the families who have been affected by these horrible attacks. The perpetrators of these atrocities must be held to account.
“Canada will always defend the right to safe access to education, both at home and abroad.”
