Residences in Surrey and Vancouver, including a luxury condo in downtown Vancouver, were searched

THE Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) announced on Wednesday that it has concluded a significant organized crime investigation that resulted in the seizure of large quantities of illicit drugs, firearms, cash proceeds, and offence-related property linked to individuals believed to pose a significant threat to public safety in British Columbia.

The investigation began in December 2024 and continued over 2025 and into early 2026. During the investigation, CFSEU-BC investigators seized multiple kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine while gathering evidence related to alleged interprovincial drug trafficking activities.

By late April 2026, investigators had identified five locations for coordinated enforcement action and obtained judicial authorization to execute search warrants.

On May 3, 2026, a commercial truck driver was arrested at the Sunshine Hills Shopping Plaza in Delta during what investigators believe was a drug-related exchange involving another individual from Vancouver. During the arrest, police seized 10 one-kilogram bricks of cocaine along with approximately $500,000 in vacuum-sealed cash.

The arrest triggered the execution of multiple search warrants at locations throughout Metro Vancouver, including residences in Vancouver and Surrey, a luxury condominium in downtown Vancouver, and a Vancouver self-storage facility.

Preliminary seizure totals from the investigation include:

• Approximately $1.5 million in bundled cash;

• Approximately 26 kilograms of cocaine;

• Approximately 7 kilograms of methamphetamine;

• 5 vehicles, including 3 equipped with sophisticated after-market hidden compartments;

• A commercial tractor trailer used in the offence;

• Approximately 250 kilograms of cocaine cutting agents, including phenacetin and benzocaine;

• Approximately 12 long guns and 4 handguns, including one fitted with a prohibited suppressor; and

• An estimated 150 empty kilogram cocaine wrappers.

“One need not look far to see the devastating impact the illicit drug trade is having on our communities. Behind the drugs trafficked on our streets are organized crime groups driven by profit, often relying on violence, intimidation, and the illegal use of firearms to further their criminal enterprises. The significant seizure of drugs, cash, and firearms in this investigation represents a meaningful disruption to those activities and demonstrates the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to protecting public safety. The individuals and organized crime groups responsible for trafficking illicit drugs continue to fuel addiction, exploit vulnerable people, and contribute to violence in our communities. Identifying, targeting, disrupting, and holding these offenders accountable remains a top priority for CFSEU-BC and our policing partners. We will continue working collaboratively to dismantle criminal networks, remove illicit commodities from our communities, and reduce the harm caused by organized crime,” said Staff-Sgt. Jon MacIntyre, Team Leader for North District Team of CFSEU-BC.

CFSEU-BC said it received significant assistance and collaboration from its policing partners throughout this investigation, including the Vancouver Police Department, RCMP’s South East District Team and police agencies throughout BC and Alberta. It said that the success of this investigation reflects the strength of coordinated law enforcement efforts across jurisdictions aimed at disrupting organized crime networks that threaten the safety of communities throughout Western Canada.

The investigation remains ongoing and charges are anticipated. Anyone with information regarding organized crime activity is encouraged to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
