ABJEET Kingra, 26, was sentenced in Victoria Provincial Court on September 26 in connection with a shooting and arson investigation that took place on September 2, 2024, in Colwood on Vancouver Island. The targeted house was the home of Punjabi rapper AP Dhillon.
The RCMP identified a second suspect in the case, Vikram Sharma, 24, who is wanted for discharge of a firearm with intent, and arson. He is believed to be in India.
On Monday, the RCMP announced that now both these men have been charged with discharge of a firearm with intent and arson for their alleged involvement in extortion related offences in Surrey dating back to 2024.
The Lower Mainland District Joint Force Operation (JFO) said that on Monday, October 6, the BC Prosecution Service laid charges against the two men in relation to an investigation led by a JFO team which was initiated in January 2025. The JFO had assumed conduct of an August 2024 investigation into a shooting and arson at the residence of a person who had received extortion threats in Surrey.
The JFO said that an additional warrant has been issued for Sharma’s arrest in relation to the new charges.
Vikram Sharma is described as:
- South Asian male
- 5’9” (174 cm)
- 181 lbs (82 kg)
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
“We recognize that charges in one investigation does not erase the community’s fear and concern regarding ongoing extortions,” said Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, Lower Mainland Assistant District Commander. “These charges, show our commitment to the community, and with a dedicated task force and additional resources, we are in a stronger position to pursue multiple suspect groups, and advance investigations toward further charges.”
Anyone with information about Vikram Sharma’s whereabouts is asked to contact police or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if you wish to remain anonymous.
