Chilliwack homicide victim Kyle Cromarty was targeted

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its ongoing investigation into the homicide of 27-year-old Chilliwack resident Kyle Cromarty which was targeted.

On October 4 at 2:42 p.m., the Chilliwack RCMP received reports of shots fired in the 46000-block of Yale Road. Police arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. IHIT was called in and assumed conduct of the investigation.

IHIT said it is working closely with its partners from the Chilliwack RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

To further the ongoing homicide investigation, IHIT revealed the identity of the homicide victim.

IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang said on Friday: “It is still early in the investigation but we believe Mr. Cromarty was targeted for murder.”
