City of Delta plans to expand Ladner Village Market in 2025

THE City of Delta says it is expanding the Ladner Village Market on a trial basis in 2025, with plans to seek feedback from businesses and residents next summer.

Delta Council approved several recommendations for the Ladner Village Market on November 18 to be introduced next year, with the goal of enhancing the market experience for the entire community.

Recommendations for the 2025 Ladner Village Market adopted by Council include:

* Extending the market layout down Delta Street to Bridge Street, providing additional space for vendors and visitors.
* Businesses along the market route will have the opportunity to set up pop-up patios for food and beverage sales on market days, subject to obtaining necessary permits.
* A dedicated area for community activities, an eating area, and an artists’ corner will be introduced to contribute to the market atmosphere.
* An eighth market day has been added to the 2025 schedule, set for September 21.

“The Ladner Village Market is a cherished tradition in our community, and these enhancements will create an even more vibrant and welcoming space for residents, businesses, and visitors alike,” said Delta Mayor George V. Harvie. “By listening to feedback and introducing thoughtful improvements, we’re ensuring the market remains a hub for connection and commerce in Delta.”

Businesses on affected streets will receive direct notification of these changes, ensuring they are informed and prepared. At the end of the 2025 market season, businesses, residents, and community members will be invited to provide feedback to evaluate the outcomes of the trial.

The City will also seek interest in operating a market in North Delta next year on Sundays that do not conflict with the Ladner Village Market.
