Connect with nature this Mother’s Day weekend at Surrey’s Glades Woodland Garden

THE City of Surrey says tickets are still available for the Saturday timeslots for this weekend’s Mother’s Day event at the Glades Woodland Garden. Bring the whole family to connect with nature, listen to live music and enjoy the garden’s impressive collection of flowers in bloom.

Visitors are invited to have a picnic on the south lawn overlooking the pond. A beverage and snack vendor will also be onsite. General admission is $7.50 plus tax. Children under 12 enter for free but must still be registered ahead of time. Entry times will be available every 60 minutes.

The Glades Woodland Garden is a beautiful 15-acre property situated in South Surrey featuring over 3,500 mature rhododendrons, azaleas, and companion plants. Some of the rhododendrons are more than 6 metres (20 feet) tall and are ablaze in colour in the spring. The garden also contains a superb collection of fine trees, many of which are now designated as heritage trees. The property has a gated entrance, gathering spaces, a new parking lot, and washrooms. You are advised to wear sturdy shoes during your visit as the pathways are bark mulch. The garden does not have wheelchair access.

The Glades Woodland Garden is located at 457 172 Street. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from May 6 to June 25, including the Mother’s Day weekend. The Glades Woodland Garden and Darts Hill Garden Park are the City of Surrey’s two feature gardens.
