THE Conservative Party of Surrey on Monday announced Sandy Dosanjh as its newest candidate for Surrey City Council.

Through her close involvement with the KidsPlay Foundation, Dosanjh supports its work to steer young people away from drugs and gang violence through sports, discipline, mentorship and positive opportunities.

“Keeping young people away from drugs and gangs takes more than speeches,” said Dosanjh. “It takes strong families, trusted mentors and opportunities that give young people confidence, discipline and a sense of purpose. Sports can provide all of that.”

A competitive bodybuilder, certified personal trainer and dedicated volunteer, Dosanjh has committed her time to helping young people find sports, mentorship and positive paths forward.

Dosanjh also comes from a law-enforcement family and understands the importance of ensuring police officers have the resources and support necessary to keep the community safe.

“I know how much police officers and their families sacrifice to protect our communities,” said Dosanjh. “They should never have to wonder whether City Hall has their backs. Surrey needs a strong police force that is fully funded and fully supported by its mayor and council.”

Conservative Party of Surrey mayoral candidate Honveer Singh Randhawa welcomed Dosanjh to the team.

“Sandy has spent her time doing the work, not merely talking about it,” said Randhawa. “Her commitment to young people, public safety and community service makes her a powerful addition to our team. Sandy is a star candidate. She understands that safer streets require both early intervention and police officers who have the resources to do their jobs.”

Dosanjh joins Randhawa and Conservative council candidates Ricky Bajwa, Donna Wu, Calvin Vanderploeg and Dan B. Carlos.
