The Delta libraries offer a variety of programs for children that will keep your child busy while engaging their minds and imagination. For added benefit, using their hands in Lego Club, Building Challenges, Imagination Station, and the other listed library programs helps foster a healthy mood, so bring them to your local library for any of these activities and take a calmer and more relaxed kid home with you afterwards!
George Mackie Library
Drop in on Mondays from 3:30 – 4:30 pm, beginning January 15 and let your imagination run full STEAM ahead with Maker Mondays! We will design and make something new, from art to tech projects (and everything in between). Ages 6 – 11.
Love Lego? In Lego Club, we provide the Lego; you bring your imagination. On Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30, beginning January 16, play, create and experiment. Lego Club is a fun afternoon program for kids. Parents must accompany children under five years of age. For the Lego fan, mark Thursday, February 1, 3:30 – 4:30 pm on the calendar! Join us for Olympic Lego Bingo. Build creations that relate to various winter Olympic sports. Participants will all receive a special medal for participation.
Ladner Pioneer Library
Children can test their engineering skills at Building Challenges on Friday, January 26, from 2 – 3 pm while they build structures with Lego, Keva Planks and Magformers. We will provide the equipment, you bring your imagination. This program returns on Friday, February 16, from 2 – 3 pm.
Come to Doggy Days with Cubetto on Monday, January 29, from 11 – 12 pm, and transform Cubetto, a friendly wooden robot, into a puppy and then learn to program him to go on a doggy adventure. It’s never too early to begin learning logic and coding! This specific program is designed for children 3-5 and their families. Cubetto teaches the basics of computer programming through stories and activities. This program is offered again on Thursday, February 8, from 1 – 2 pm.
Join us for an afternoon of activities sharing STEAM knowledge on the second Thursday of the month, from 3:15 – 4 pm! Kids aged 6 to 9 can participate in STEAM Starters, a program that offers Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math based activities. The theme on Thursday, February 8, is Science and Marshmallow Molecules. Future themes are cardboard automation and instrument-making with everyday objects. Note: parent/caregiver/guardian must remain within the library facilities during the program. Older children between the ages of 10 – 13 (Grades 4 – 7) can join us for an afternoon of STEAM Activities on the third Thursday of the month, where they also participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges. February 15 theme is math, periscopes and pantographs. Future themes include creating bridges out of paper and some egg challenges!

Tsawwassen Library
Everyone is welcome to join the fun of Imagination Station on Sundays from 2 – 3 pm. We will provide LEGO, KEVA planks, and Magformers. All you need to bring is your imagination. Test your engineering skills while you build stunning structures.
Drop in Monday and Friday between 3:30 and 4:30 pm for family fun arts and crafts. Get Crafty is an educational program based on STEAM concepts. It offers a different craft each week. Participants will be able to take their craft home with them. This activity is suitable for ages 5+.
Do you and your family love a good tabletop game? Join us on Saturdays, from 2 – 4 pm, for an enjoyable afternoon of Family Games, playing new and old board games, card games and more! Our games include Chess, Mahjong, Ticket to Ride, Codenames, Sorry, puzzles, and some unexpected treasures.
