A collision which took place in Tsawwassen at approximately 6:10 a.m. on Monday has claimed the life of a 45-year-old Delta woman.
The woman’s vehicle was travelling westbound on 16th Avenue, and a pick-up truck was travelling northbound on 56th Avenue when the collision occurred in the intersection.
The driver of the truck is cooperating fully with police.
“At this point the cause of the collision remains under investigation and police are not in a position to comment on possible causes,” said Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “Next of kin notification has been completed, and victim services is being offered to both the family of the deceased as well as the other driver involved in the collision.”
Police are still on scene and the investigation is continuing.
“We want to thank motorists for their patience as they allow police and emergency health services complete their work on site,” said Leykauf.
