IHIT seeks public assistance for information on Ivy Chen

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is calling on the public to assist its ongoing investigation into a suspicious death in Coquitlam.

On March 10, at approximately 6:15 a.m., a body was discovered in the 4000-block of Quarry Road in Coquitlam’s Minnekhada Regional Park.  Pen Jung Tracy Chen was arrested at the scene and later charged with indignity to a dead body.

Investigators continue to work to positively identify the dead victim.  During the initial phases of the investigation, IHIT learned that 36-year-old Pen Yun Ivy Chen of Port Coquitlam was a person of importance to the case and her current whereabouts are unknown.  Ivy Chen is the sister of Tracy Chen, who has been charged in this investigation.  Ivy Chen was last seen at the Canadian Tire at 2830 Bentall Street in Vancouver on March 6.     

“While we are unable to confirm if Ms. Ivy Chen was the victim in this case, we are interested in speaking with anyone who has had recent contact with her or has any information about her whereabouts,” said Sgt. Frank Jang.
