Explosion and fire in Surrey residence

SURREY RCMP areĀ are presently on scene at a residence in the 15200-block of 105th Avenue following an explosion and a fire at a residence.

Just after 12:05 p.m., Surrey Fire Department responded to a report of the explosion and the fire. Fire fighters extinguished the fire. Surrey RCMP also attended the scene.

The three persons that were in the residence at the time of the explosion had all left the place and were uninjured.Ā  RCMP are presently holding the residence as the exact cause of the explosion has not been determined. The explosion has compromised the structural integrity of the residence, and a structural engineer has been called by the Fire Department to determine if and when investigators can safely enter to determine the cause of the explosion. Police may not be able to enter the place until Monday morning.
