Extortion-related shooting in Surrey’s Bear Creek Park area

SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating an overnight shots fired incident at a residence in Surrey’s Bear Creek neighbourhood that investigators believe is extortion-related.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, SPS officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a residence in the 8600-block of Galway Crescent. Police located a residence that had been damaged by gunfire. The residence was occupied at the time and, fortunately, nobody was injured.

SPS’s Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIS) have attended and SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken conduct of the investigation. The investigation is in its early stages and officers may return to the neighbourhood today to search for physical and digital evidence.
