RIDGE Meadows RCMP announced on Friday that the suspect arrested in a multi-jurisdictional armed robbery series back in December has now been charged.
Between December 5 and 7, 2025, Ridge Meadows RCMP and Langley RCMP received six separate reports of robbery believed to have been committed by the same suspect. Four of the incidents occurred in Maple Ridge and two in Langley. In each instance, the suspect’s description and methods were very similar. This included multiple businesses and their staff and customers being targeted and a firearm being present. None of the victims involved sustained any physical injuries.
Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) forwarded the results of their investigation to BC Prosecution Service. The following 10 charges have now been laid against 24-year-old Cole Mercer of Langley:
- 4 counts of robbery;
- 4 counts of use imitation firearm;
- 1 count of theft;
- 1 count of possession of stolen property.
Mercer’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 5.
As this is still an ongoing and active investigation, no further details will be released, police said.
