RIDGE Meadows RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred on Friday morning in Maple Ridge.
On July 11 at approximately 3:05 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle incident at 240th Street and Lougheed Highway.
The motor vehicle incident is believed to involve a single vehicle, which has resulted in a fatality.
When police arrived at the scene, Maple Ridge Fire and Rescue and BC Emergency Health Services were already on scene.
The Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team (ICARS) were called out to assist with the investigation.
Initially Lougheed Highway was shut down in both directions.
This is currently an active and ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
