BURNABY RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident that has resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

At 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck in the 4300-block of Hastings Street. The incident resulted in the death of a female pedestrian.

Hastings Street was shut down in both directions between Madison Avenue and Rosser Avenue.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team has assumed conduct of the investigation. Investigators have identified the vehicle and are following up with information provided by witnesses to determine the circumstances which lead up to the incident.
