NORTH Vancouver RCMP are currently on scene following a stabbing inside an apartment in the Lower Lonsdale area.

On December 13 at 11:05 a.m., police received a report of a disturbance inside an apartment complex in the 200-block of West 3rd Street. Officers located a woman suffering from injuries that appeared to be the result of a stabbing.

Police and BC Ambulance Service immediately began lifesaving measures but the woman was later pronounced deceased on scene.

North Vancouver RCMP located and arrested a suspect who has been transported to the North Vancouver RCMP Cells. Both parties are known to each other. This is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public, police said.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation and will be working in partnership with the North Vancouver RCMP.
