FLEETWOOD-PORT Kells MP Nina Grewal was officially acclaimed as the Conservative Party candidate in her riding for the 2015 federal election. Grewal has served as the MP for Fleetwood-Port Kells since 2004.
“I have proudly served the constituents of Fleetwood-Port Kells for nearly a decade now, and look forward to contesting this seat on behalf of the Conservative Party during the 2015 federal election,” said Grewal. “My record speaks for itself, as I have been a strong-problem solver and have always addressed the needs of my constituents. That is the whole point of doing public service: to ensure that you support and voice the views and concerns of those in your riding so that change can be made for the better.”
The riding of Fleetwood-Port Kells has seen significant change and growth over the last decade. During this time, Grewal noted she has supported the growth of numerous projects and brought forward significant legislation to tackle many different issues.
“I have always promoted legislation that mattered to my constituents and to all Canadians,” said Grewal. “My time in Parliament has shown that positive change often comes from a grassroots level; it comes from various meetings with constituents, community leaders and other levels of government where concerns and new ideas are shared. I have always kept my ear to the ground in my riding and will continue to do so in order to ensure that the ideas and issues voiced in Fleetwood-Port Kells are heard in Ottawa.
“Perhaps my greatest satisfaction has come from the casework I do in the constituency office. Helping residents with their problems, whether it is visas, employment insurance, pensions, or some other matter is extremely gratifying. The demands are great, but the reward of helping constituents is priceless.
“My time in Parliament has been very fulfilling. It is an honour to represent the ideals and values of Fleetwood-Port Kells and I hope to continue to serve the riding in the coming years with my enriched experience as a member of PM Harper’s Team.”
