Fraser Valley Regional Library to close book drops

TO support efforts to help limit the spread of COVID-19, all Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) locations have been temporarily closed to the public. Book drops, which were temporarily kept open to facilitate material returns, are now closed. Customers are asked to keep their checked out materials. Do do not return items to the library at this time.

While their physical spaces are closed, the FVRL is taking steps to support the community as much as possible:

* Due dates and holds will automatically extend to accommodate the closure period and all late fines waived.

* Borrowing and streaming limits have been doubled for the most popular eBook, audiobook and streaming services, including OverDrive, RBdigital, Kanopy and Acorn TV.

* Exploring ways to offer some of the FVRL in-person experiences and services virtually, including programs, reference services, and remote card registration.

The FVRL’s digital content is available online 24/7 – free with an FVRL card. Visit the Digital Content tab at www.fvrl.ca to access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, video streaming and eLearning.

Developments regarding COVID-19 are changing frequently. As things change, the FVRL will continue to update customers through its website www.fvrl.ca and social media channels.
