VANCOUVER Police announced on Monday that four suspects have been charged in relation to an alleged home invasion that occurred in North Vancouver on February 5.
Harjot Singh Samra, 29, Gary Gurpreet Dhillon, 33, Sahajdeep Singh Khunkhun, 26, and Shane Aaron Naicker, 31, have all been charged with:
- One count of robbery with a firearm
- One count of break and enter
- One count of unlawful confinement
- One count of possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm
- One count of assault with a weapon
All four accused remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing.
As reported last week, the men were arrested on February 5 by the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team in North Vancouver in connection with an ongoing investigation led by the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section.
Investigators allege the suspects forcibly entered a residence and unlawfully confined a 45-year-old man inside a residence near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway. Police believe the victim was specifically targeted.
The victim was safely rescued and sustained minor injuries.
Out of abundance of precaution, a North Vancouver elementary school in the area was placed on lockdown procedures until the incident was resolved.
