THE Hindu Federation thanked Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie and members of the Mississauga City Council for their unanimous approval of its request for broadcasting of Hindu prayers in the city.
“This action was the result of the Hindu Federation temple members’ support of the request made by The Hindu Forum on behalf of the temples, to broadcast religious hymns, Gayatri Mantra and Hanuman Chalisa once a day at 7 p.m. for five minutes during this auspicious period of August 11 to August 31, as we celebrate the following religious events: Krishna Janmashtami on August 11, Ganesh Chaturthi on August 22, and Onam on August 31,” according to a statement.
